Church Planting:

The Harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few  Luke 10:2.

In the year of 1991 when Pastor. Jacob came to Tribal region called Bhadrachalam which is nearly boarder of South and North India. He walked through hundreds of villages by preaching the Gospel where there is no single believer or Evangelist. In order to start his first church with 3 people in the village called Duginepally, he suffered a lot, walked with barefoot, slept under trees day after day.  There was a lot of opposition to the presence of a church in that area.  Since his call is revealed by God very clearly to go into different areas to establish branches, where ever he go into the villages with heart of love and compassion Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is confirmed some times with signs and wonders. It is not always easy to receive Jesus and be as a believer, because when an individual or family receives Jesus they have to stand for problems and persecutions from their caste, community and from their own family.  Each and every family having very strong culture, Caste, and family bonds.  But, these problems never stop a true believer to follow the Lord Jesus Christ. In order to encourage such a believers and unite them in prayers, pastor Jacob had started small prayer services in small mud huts and in rented huts, which became church branches today.  By the year 1994 there were 9 branches established in 9 different villages. When these new believers received Jesus from different problems and difficulties, the Gospel not only changed their spiritual lives but also changed their family situations. Even though they have little but, they began to aware to be clean in the home and also they stopped all their bad habits.  Every Sunday they walk 5 to 10 mills with their small children to come and participate in Sunday service to the nearest branch. All these new churches became fire believers in fasting and praying and evangelizing their own people from their personal experience.

Not simply words,  but reaching people personally and caring

GTSSS, board of directors have met for a special meeting prayerfully declared GTSSS churches as "Jesus Christ Church fellowship". So since then our churches called Jesus Christ Church Fellowship (GTSSS).  We have great burden to establish churches in South and North India as our mission is at the boarder of both states.  In the year 1995 God has spoken with Jacob's mother that God is opening door to North India to establish churches.  As a result of God's word in the 1996 first Gospel team from GTSSS, went out during the summer time and traveled across the few districts in the North Indian state called Madhya Pradesh. When they were in that region they were all most close to so many dangerous as people still not developed from their culture and tradition. In one such area, when the brothers first came there, have discovered that the people still practicing human sacrifice and animal sacrifices. When our brothers were in such a danger situations God as protected them from all these problems. When our brothers prayed for the healing to people, God has healed them. So that door was opened for the Gospel and many such a people were saved and churches started. Most of the brothers working in that region have gone through beatings and terrible persecution, and some have been stoned, and hospitalized. But, they still return with the Love of Jesus Christ.

Churches burned down and destroyed

During the last summer (2004) some of our churches burn down by anti Christians, when it happen, hearts of new believers were broken, but we encouraged them that the real church is not hut but heart. Up to this point we have established 362 churches as on  Jan  2007 and total 402 fulltime Missionaries and evangelists working in our mission. Most of our churches are just like small mud huts, where 20 to 50 people worshiping the Lord.

Missionaries :

When the Lord began to enlarge our mission, we recognized God's plan for our mission and God's time to start Bible training center to train up church planting leaders and to send them back to their own people to establish churches among their own community. The first batch training program started in the November first week of 1995, under a mango tree. This training was taken place just only for two months to train up 15 church planters who filled with passion in their hearts and recognized God's call in their lives. Soon after their 2 months training program, we fasted, prayed and we sent them into mission field. Most of them became pioneers of the work of God and became leaders. Since then, every year we are preparing and sending full-time missionaries (pastors) continuously.

How they survive when they first go to the mission field :

Because of the extreme poverty and hardship, a young man answering the call to the pastoral ministry often cannot support him self and his family much less can he afford to go to Bible school for the training. Yet many who have heard that call, have given up well-paying jobs and works to serve as pastors in small, poor villages.  When a pastor and family go to our mission center to a village to start a church, there is no person to receive them, even to give a glass of water.  In many cases they have to suffer for starvation, beatings, shelter and for opposition. In spite of all these situations they are standing in the front line and willing to lay up their lives for the living Gospel of Jesus. After they stand for such a difficulties on daily basis they are able to start churches with few a new believers. When people became New believers they have to stand for all persecutions from their community and Kith and kin.

How can we help them :

  1. By prayer :  Kindly pray at least to a missionary family.

  2. By supporting : Friends, you may not willing to  go into mission field to suffer for the Gospel. But if you just help Rs.2400/ $60 to $100 (30 to 60  pounds/50 to 100 Euro) per month, that will be great help and encouragement  to this missionary family to meet daily basic needs. At the same time you are a part of the work of the Lord in that respective area.

  3. By building a village church Project :  We could build a village church, two rooms for pastor's family, water well, toilets  with in the cost of Rs. 4,60,000/- $10454 (6571 pounds/9200 Euro).  In the same price we make a Tube well in front of the church.

Our Village Churches:

GTSSS is a young fast growing ministry. Most of our branch churches just mud huts. Every  Sunday morning people could walk 5 to 10 miles before they reach to the nearest branch. Very few places we are able to build brick walls churches.  We are planning to build a church in a every village as God provide resources.

Help Bicycles & Motor Bikes :

So many full time missionaries, when they go into mission field they have no effort rather they walk village after village to preach the Gospel.  Some times it takes nearly a day to walk before they come to some sub-road from where they get buses.  If we can help a bicycle to a missionary family, that will be such a great help to speed up the work of our Master Jesus. Pastor and his family can go on one bicycle.  We would buy such a strong and good bicycle with in the cost of Rs. 2400/- $ 60 (35 Pounds/ 50 Euro) we are in need of 150 bicycles at present. There are around 30 leaders who are holding responsibility over group of churches.  If we would help them with motor bike cost of Rs. 45,000/ $ 1000 (600pounds / 900 Euro) that will be great helpful.
